How to Create and Manage Contact Groups

This guide will show you how to organize your contacts by creating groups. You'll learn how to create a new group, add contacts to it during creation, and later remove a contact from a group.

What You'll Need

  • You must have at least one contact saved in the app before you can create a group.

Part 1: Creating a New Group

Follow these steps to create your first group and add members to it.

  1. Navigate to the Groups Tab
    • On the main "Contacts" screen, look at the top navigation bar.
    • Tap on the Groups tab. You will see a "No Groups" message if this is your first time.
  2. Start a New Group
    • Tap the purple plus (+) icon located in the top right corner of your screen.
    • This will open the "Create Group" page.
  3. Name Your Group
    • Tap inside the "Group Name" field.
    • Type a name that describes the contacts you'll add, such as Warm Leads or Family.
  4. Add Contacts to the Group
    • Tap on the Choose Contact field.
    • A "Select Contact" list will appear, showing all of your saved contacts.
    • Tap the checkbox on the right side of each contact's name that you want to add to this group. A purple checkmark will confirm your selection.
    • When you are finished selecting contacts, tap Save in the top right corner.
  5. Finish Creating the Group
    • You will be returned to the "Create Group" page, where you'll see the names of your selected contacts listed as tags.
    • Tap the purple Create button at the bottom.
    • You will now see your newly created group on the "Groups" screen.

Part 2: Removing a Contact from a Group

If you need to remove a contact from a group, you can do it directly from their profile.

  1. Find the Contact
    • Tap on the Contacts tab at the top of the screen to see your full contact list.
    • Tap on the name of the contact you wish to edit.
  2. Open the Edit Screen
    • On the contact's profile page, tap the edit icon (a pencil inside a circle) located at the top of the screen.
  3. Change Group Membership
    • On the "Edit" screen, scroll down until you see the Add To a Group section.
    • You will see the name of the group the contact currently belongs to (e.g., "Warm Leads") with a small 'x' next to it.
    • Tap the 'x' on the group name tag to remove the contact from that group.
  4. Save Your Changes
    • Tap the Save or checkmark icon at the top of the screen to confirm the removal.
    • The contact will no longer be part of that group. If you check the group's member list, it will be empty.

Next Steps

  • You can create as many groups as you need to keep your contacts organized.
  • To see who is in a specific group, simply go to the "Groups" tab and tap on the group's name.
